Haircare Review: John Frieda’s Beach Blonde

Today I have a very quick, bite-sized haircare review for you. I’ve been loving John Frieda’s Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray lately. Although I think this little bottle would have been fine with a shorter name, it’s the perfect companion for summer. I’ve always been a fan of beachy waves and although I had been wanting to try Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray for a long time, the price tag always stopped me. Then John Frieda came along with its own salty product at a more affordable £6.99 (3 for 2 at Boots too!),  which I took as a sign that I needed to try it.

So what does it do? It gives my hair texture and makes it easy to get slightly messy, effortless waves, like I just got back from the beach. I spray it in my wet hair and just let it air dry, and I spray more into my dry hair whenever I want to add a bit more texture to it. It’s very light and even smells lovely, slightly coconutty but not overpowering. It works for both long and short hair, and is so easy to use!

Do you ever use sea salt spray?

I’ve never tried this but I love the beach wave hair look and this sounds right up my street. Thanks for posting!

I used salt spray once but it completely weighed my hair down and made it look flat. I think it’s because my hair is really thin, so they don’t work for me! Great review 🙂

Definitely may have to try this as I really love salt spray, and my Loreal one isn’t as good anymore! x

Hey Jasmine, don’t use it as a shampoo!! It’s a spray you can use on dry or wet hair, but don’t rinse it out haha 🙂
